Tortilla Pizza Wrap Wedges

This is so easy for a snack or a light lunch.  Basically you’re just swapping a pizza base for a tortilla wrap and then folding it into a wedge shape so it’s easy to hold and eat. That way it’s a little like a calzone.  These are big favourites in our house and the kiddies like to add their own toppings.  The idea came from my friend Rachel Banner who made tortilla pizzas for my boys when looking after them. Hope you enjoy them as much as we do!

Preparation time – 5 minutes

Cooking time – 8 minutes

Serves – 4 (easily halved or doubled)

4 large tortilla
4 Tbsp Tomato Puree
150 g Cheddar Cheese
Pizza toppings (we used pepperoni, basil and piquante peppers)

Pre-heat the oven to 180 degrees fan assisted (200 non fan assisted)

Place the tortillas on a baking tray.  Put about a tbsp of tomato puree in the centre of each tortilla and spread out to the edges with back of a spoon.

Sprinkle the cheese evenly over each base and then top with your topping of choice.  We used pepperoni, piquante peppers and fresh basil.  We also did one with ham for the youngest as the pepperoni can be oily and then a little too messy!

Season with some freshly ground pepper.

Place in the oven for about 8 minutes, or until the cheese has melted.  You want it to start crisping the outer edges of the tortilla.

When ready remove from the oven.  You can serve as a pizza, cutting it into segments.

But, trust me, it tastes even better folded into a wedge.  So, for the wedges, fold in half and in half again.  Leave to cool a little before serving as the filling will be hot for little ones.  Eat from the open end so it doesn’t drip!

Buon Appetito!

  1. It looks delicious, I do these for the children when I don’t have time to make dough. Mine love them with pepperoni, cheese and tomato. I wonder if I can get away with adding peppers too to up their veg intake too.

  2. Those look SO amazing, so tasty – my boys love making little pizzas for themselves, this would be much easier than making the dough every time!
